What's included

Our allied health supports in detail

A closer look at the therapeutic, nursing, early childhood and exercise supports available through TLK Care.

Community Nursing Care for High Needs

Community nursing care supports participants who need clinical care as part of their daily life. This may be important when a person has complex disability related health needs, requires regular monitoring, or needs trained assistance with routines that must be delivered safely and consistently.

Our approach is person centred and practical. We work with the participant, family, carers and wider support team so nursing care fits into everyday routines and helps the person remain as safe, comfortable and independent as possible.

We can support high-needs care such as:

  • Wound care and complex wound management
  • PEG feeding and home enteral nutrition
  • Ventilation support and respiratory routines
  • Complex bowel care
  • Urinary catheter management
  • Subcutaneous injections

Early Intervention Childhood Supports

Early childhood support is designed for children who may need extra help with development, communication, movement, play, behaviour or daily living skills. The focus is not simply on a diagnosis. It is on understanding the child's strengths, needs and family environment.

TLK Care can bring together allied health professionals such as occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, physiotherapists and behaviour therapists. Support is tailored to each child and adjusted as therapy sessions, assessments and family feedback show what is working.

Support may help children to:

  • Build mobility, balance and strength through OT, physiotherapy or exercise physiology
  • Develop communication skills through speech pathology
  • Improve dressing, cutlery use, hand eye coordination and play skills
  • Assess adaptive equipment that may support daily routines

Exercise Physiology and Personal Training

Exercise physiology and personal training can help participants improve physical function, confidence and health through safe, structured movement. Support is tailored to the person's goals, current capacity, disability related needs and daily environment.

Programs may focus on building strength and endurance, improving movement patterns, supporting healthy weight management, managing pain, or developing sustainable routines that help people stay active at home and in the community.

Exercise programs may support:

  • Better posture, balance, coordination and agility
  • Pain management and improved sleep quality
  • Improved endurance, fitness, mobility and stability
  • Reduced spasticity and lower risk of contracture
  • Support for metabolic health, including diabetes management
  • Sustainable exercise habits that support healthy ageing

Therapeutic Supports

Therapeutic supports are designed to help participants improve daily living, independence, relationships, communication and wellbeing. These supports are often delivered by allied health professionals and may include assessment, therapy, reports, training and practical recommendations.

Depending on the participant's goals and plan, therapeutic supports may help with personal care, community participation, behaviour, mobility, social skills, emotional wellbeing, communication and the development of everyday routines.

NDIS therapeutic support categories may include:

Improved health and wellbeing

Supports from professionals such as dietitians, exercise physiologists and personal trainers to improve health, fitness and wellbeing.

Improved relationships

Therapies that support social skills, emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and healthier relationships.

Improved daily living
